Extrusion
Extrusion is the process that transforms aluminium into a container and forcing it at high pressure through the profiled opening of a die. Aluminium extrusions are made from solid aluminium cylinders called billets, which are continuously cast from molten aluminium. The press supplies the force necessary to squeeze the billet through the extrusion die.
Muang Thong utilizes four presses to extrude aluminum with the capacity of 15,000 tons per year. We are able to extrude to customer specifications, while enhancing the quality of the extrusion through the unlimited opportunities of adapting product shapes and using fewer components to reduce finishing process and assembly, therefore, reducing costs.
Anodizing
Anodizing is an electrochemical process that allows you to increase the natural and clear oxide layer which is normally present on the metal surface. Anodized profiles are well suited for industrial applications requiring high corrosion resistance.
Batch Anodizing - Involves racking parts and immersing them in a series of treatment tanks. Extrusions, sheets or bent metal parts, Appearance options and quality are improved through the use of dyes and special pretreatment procedures. This makes the aluminum look like pewter, stainless steel, copper, brushed bronze or polished brass and can also be colored with brilliant blues, greens, reds, and many varieties of metallic gold and silver.
Powder Coating
Powder coating is the technique of applying dry paint to a part. The powdered paint is electro statically charged and sprayed onto the part which is then placed in an oven and the powder particles melt and coalesce to form a continuous film.
Powder coating produces a high specification coating which is relatively hard, abrasion resistant (depending on the specification) and tough. Powder coating high-performance finishing systems is able to withstand 3000 hours of salt spray test (American Architectural Manufacturers Association AAMA 2603-98). The electrostatic painting method allows long guarantee bright color coat to be painted as a surface finish. Powder coating can be reuse and therefore, is environment-friendly.
MuangThong utilizes powder coating technique and is known under the brand “PERFETTO“.
PVDF Coating Polyvinylidene DiFluoride High performance finishing systems ? is an alternative method of color painting which uses liquid instead of powder and has been tested to be able to withstand 4000 hours of salt spray (AAMA 2605-05).
Decoral Coating is the new Italian technology of high performance finishing systems that reach to the AAMA 2603-98, which Muang Thong utilizes to provide alternative decorating materials for furniture and decorative application. Under the brand name, ?Tigerwoods?, Muang Thong introduces the new wood effects (and others) for aluminium coatings. It is the new surface finish, that preserves our green environment and prevents further deforestation.
Fabrication
Fabrication is the process that minimizes the need for further work and makes fitting and assembly more efficient. In variety of works, some forms of fabrication are a requirement depending on the specifications and the complexity of the products.
MuangThong’s fabrication plant carries out complex and high added value work to provide a wide range of fabrication services, from milling and sawing to turning and bending, to meet our customers? requirements and satisfaction.
By receiving finished products and not having to warehouse components prior to a fabrication process, our customers save their costs, both time and money, particularly on packaging and delivery.
